My dog could never keep this still, even for five seconds, so hats off to Maddie on Things. I just love the expression she gives knowing she is thinking things like… “Am I done yet?” and “I hope this makes you happy”. You can also buy most of these prints in the shop for 15 to 30 bucks.

Coincidence that I saw this piece on the subway by Sophie Blackall, and then came across this video of her working on that very piece appropriately named Missed Connections, after her popular book. Yet still my favorite has to go to Duke Riley’s U-Line poster, but Sophie Blackall’s newest piece really caught my eye, and can’t wait to get a closer look soon. Often the subway is...

Picked this cutie a little over a week ago. She is a pug/terrier/other-things mix, and her name is Holly. She’s pretty much perfect, but is still very much a puppy. As you can see she thought she could hang on the couch from Day 1. She’s just as happy with her dog bed. Her tail never stops. While at work I can track the dog walker and pup’s every move by Pet Check. They also...

I don’t know what it is, but I’ve been supporting a couple of Vermont’s small businesses and just realized it. I ordered the above Ursa Major’s Natural Face Wash the other day. I can’t wait to try it out, plus that packaging by PTARMAK is perdy. Today I came across this awesome Farmstead Goat Milk Caramels by Big Picture Farm, knowing I’d have someone who...

I’m a huge fan of Meyer’s soap, and was pretty pumped to find this DIY of how to make a four dollar bar of Meyer’s soap and transform it into a gallons worth of refill liquid soap. Is the sweat and time worth it? Only one way to find out. Learn how to make lots of liquid soap thanks to The Farmer’s Nest.

Past couple of months I’ve come across a few illustrations on Vanity Fair.com which I’ve really loved. One was of Rick Perry, another of Charlie Sheen, and for that reason I never thought to compare illustrators. The other day I came across another, this time Mitt Romney. All these works were by Andre Carrilho. He might be old news nor lacking work, but I’ve become obsessed with...

Great design of a desk to eliminate the cords as best as possible. Judging by the creators Odmark the desk doesn’t come with standard U.S. outlets, but at least I hope there are a few USB ports under there. Check out more…

Loving this apartment of photographer Doug Friedman courtesy Refinery29. The colors, the framed art and it’s placement, the furniture, the dark glossy floors, all capped off with a deer head which I would die to have in my apartment.

This weekend I went up to Dartmouth Massachusetts where my Mother spends the cold months as she rents her house during Summer. I wanted to take a weekend to get away from the city, get lots of fresh air, family time, and help my Mother with a number of things around the house. On Sunday my sister, Mother and I took the dog to her favorite spot, the dunes of Horseneck Beach. The area was quiet and...

Been a little obsessed with Curbed this week. My biggest obsession is this townhouse in the East Village. Excuse me…townhouses. Two townhouses being sold together for just under thirteen million. A lot until you realize it’s down form eighteen million. Deal right!? Speaking of eighteen, these digs have eighteen fire places. Check out these floor plans! It’s a ridiculous amount...

I’m in love with those little brown birds who normally hang out with pigeons. They’re usually doing one of two things: waiting for crumbs or taking dirt baths. Apparently they are doing a lot more when we all aren’t watching, according to Marc John’s illustration series, What Birds Do When We Aren’t Looking. I’m hoping he makes it into a book very soon....

A couple of pictures from Mackenzie and I’s trip to my favorite place in the world, Newport Rhode Island. Mackenzie pictured in front of The Elms Mansion. At the end of Cliff Walk. Entering Second Beach on a quiet day, very close from the house I grew up in. Another favorite spot. Cliff Walk isn’t the safest walk you’ll take. In front of The Breakers Mansion as the sun is...

I’m no movie buff nor a movie snob but I’ve been obsessed with the movie Drive since seeing it at the somewhat new Nitehawk Cinema a block from my place in Williamsburg. I love the characters, the actors, the plot, the action, the violence, and Carey Mulligan. The thing that ties it all together the sound track. Nightcall (feat. Lovefoxxx) by Kavinsky Desire - Under Your...

Since making the leap living across Bedford Ave in Williamsburg, some new restaurants have been popping up. It’s probably because of me…obviously. The best looking one has been Isa on Wythe, the cousin of Peels and Freeman’s. Apparently they could use some time to perfect their dishes say some reviews, but in the meantime check out these photos of the place via The Selby, and a...

I’ve jumped on the kale bandwagon, right after all the trendy-foodies, health-nuts and a bunch of others did. I bought my first “thing” of kale a couple of months ago, from the farmers market in Williamsburg. A shit load for two bucks. I just fried it in a pan with some olive oil, and some salt. It was addictive, or maybe it was the salt talking, but now actually crave it when i...

Has anyone ever had Grady’s Cold Brew coffee before? It’s a News Orleans style iced coffee made in Brooklyn, I believe in neighboring Greenpoint. I’ve only had “News Orleans style” coffee once at Blue Bottle Coffee and it was by far the strongest iced coffee I’d had ever had. Made me jittery all day. Almost too strong that it turned me off, maybe I’m just...

Was this the dog I was meant to have? He looks like someone else I know… Barkley from Sesame Street of course, which was my favorite character by default. Just like how this guy was my favorite basketball player.
