Recently I’ve been having some superb weekends (like the weekend before last’s pool party) and this weekend was no exception as it was Mackenzie’s brithday evening of surprises (from me). It began with a night at the Ace Hotel in my favorite named New York hood NoMad. It’s easily the best thought out, curated, and run hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Easily. I totally reccommend it, and really can’t wait to go back.
After some relaxation I got a pair of Shakespeare in the Park tickets for Friday’s showing of All’s Well That Ends Well as part two of the birthday evening. If you get the chance to grab tickets you’ll be amazed at the quality of the production.
Before the show we had an hour to kill so we strolled around Central Park. Because of the chance of rain, the park was dead. The mist/fog made the skyline disappear and it felt like we were back in the burbs.
Also, had some time to make a quick gif before the show.
Following Shakespeare we grabbed some food at The Breslin, located in the Ace Hotel. I enjoyed my first Lamb Burger with a side of fries. It was the richest meat I’ve ever had. I could have been happy with half of it. Mackenzie snagged mussels which would generally be my go-to.
Of course we woke up to some delicious Stumptown Coffee, and enormous macarons. After that it was back to reality.
