When the time comes that I have a living room with lots of light again, purchasing a couple of Grape Wood Tillandsia Gardens by Flora Grubb Gardens will be atop my list. After the boxes are all gone. Having plants in general is going to be a major plus in the future made-up apartment. The Grape Wood Tillandsia Gardens start at 14 for the smallest, but are easy as misting every once in awhile.

Speaking of plants…you need to check out photos of urban farmer Annie Novak and her roof full of vegetables, planets, chickens and bees.

Totally in love with Kate & Andy Spades apartment in New York which was shot by The Selby which has a very curated blog with only weekly posts of one amazing place. This week it was really exciting to look inside of the Spades. It’s been the closest idea of my dream New York apartment from front door to back. The idea of family furniture with a mix of today (not IKEA) as well as plenty of books, nic-nacs, color, and finally livable, never cold. Here are a few of my favorite from the series.

The floors are gorgeous, and the hanging of the pictures is awesome.

What I would do to have a kitchen with this much light. One day.

Old matchbook remind me of some random draws at each of my parents and grandfathers houses.

There are books everywhere which probably collect plenty of dust, but a little dust ain’t bad. Plus love the daring red built-ins.

I recognize Round Up, Stallion and Kings candy cigarettes. I still know the place in Newport Rhode Island that are still sells these exact brand candy cigarettes. My mom was totally cool with my getting these, and is shocking I don’t smoke today.

Parts of this apartment can be a little girly. I am very fond of contemporary design and architectures, but for a place to relax, kick off your shoes, and in this case sit in front of the fireplace, I need something along the lines of these digs.

Maybe because there is a little girl living there too.
