The first app I’ve bought in a long while. Make lists and stay organized with an app that has no menus, buttons or nav bars, just pinch, swipe, flick, and all things iPhone instead. Check out Clear.

I don’t know what it is, but I’ve been supporting a couple of Vermont’s small businesses and just realized it. I ordered the above Ursa Major’s Natural Face Wash the other day. I can’t wait to try it out, plus that packaging by PTARMAK is perdy.

Today I came across this awesome Farmstead Goat Milk Caramels by Big Picture Farm, knowing I’d have someone who would love them, I grabbed some. They sell it at my local cheese shop, but I have a feeling they won’t be there after the holiday rush.

Plus you can get to know the goats…

Great design of a desk to eliminate the cords as best as possible. Judging by the creators Odmark the desk doesn’t come with standard U.S. outlets, but at least I hope there are a few USB ports under there. Check out more…

Loving this apartment of photographer Doug Friedman courtesy Refinery29. The colors, the framed art and it’s placement, the furniture, the dark glossy floors, all capped off with a deer head which I would die to have in my apartment.

The latest topic of the apartment discussion is how to get a bookshelf wall we are happy with, on a budget, without making it look obviously cheap. We have a good amount of wall space, and lots of books on the ground. Above, the latest leading candidate. Not much is needed for this: L brackets, a drill, a level, and our wood of choice. I’m thinking a nice wood with the money we save, or staining a cheaper wood.Post from Design*Sponge via Huffington Post.

The past couples of weekends (except for hyped-up-hurricane Irene weened) I’ve found myself at ABC Home, the F.A.O. Schwartz of gorgeous furniture. Located just North of Union Square my first trip was with Mackenzie who just happened to win a hundred dollar gift certificate to ABC Kitchen while there. Couple weeks I returned with friend Travis whose an interior designer, and saw everything except for his beloved Johnathon Adler chair while there. Figuring that my girlfriend who works at Architectural Digest, and my interior designer best friend you’d think I was dragged there, but in fact I think I’m the one itching to go back for a third time.
Maybe it’s just my new apartment I moved a month ago, and wanting it to look as awesome as possible. Above are a couple of pieces I’d seriously consider dishing out some cash for.

The city of San Francisco made of toothpicks, yes toothpicks. On top of the insaneness of building the city of San Francisco out of toothpicks, the builder made it so table tennis balls moves through the sculpture as a tours of the city. Not just one tour, numerous tours, with no shortage of landmarks.

What a powerful space from Elle Korea.

I need an iPad, so I can play with the FontBook app by FontShop ASAP!

Took a dyslexic designer to design a typeface designed strictly for dyslexics. Dyslexie was designed by Christian Boer and it’s no Helvetica, he has designed a typeface which can help the brain understand and translate letters and words a bit easier. The University of Twente in Netherlands have shown the typeface does make a difference, and being dyslexic myself, it does help.Generally people are misinformed on dyslexia that all dyslexics read words backwards. False. I’ve never read a word backwards, nor do I confuse my b, d, and p’s up. There are hundreds of ways to be diagnosed with dyslexia. Everyone has their particular strengths and weaknesses, at all different levels. Read Fast Company’s short post on the Dyslexie typeface.
Always fun to look at all the famous dyslexics. Pablo Picasso, JFK, Steve Jobs, Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, and my favorite Keira Knightley are all dyslexic. Working list here.

I’ve been obsessed with nautical flags since I was a young kid. I think I enjoyed it so much because it involved memorizing, design, and sailing (which I never really did as a kid, but was exposed to it non-stop while growing up in Rhode Island). I even quizzed my mother on them. She was so not into it. Now the idea of everything nautical is very trendy, and I admit do plenty with nautical inspired illustrations too, but I can’t help it.

I’m also can’t help loving this set of nautical flags by Best Made Co. They’re a pretty penny, almost two thousand for the set, but I want!
