Little stuck on a current hand-drawn gig poster. In need of some inspiration to evolve the look and feel, and found it here.

Cool speaker dude.

Been on repeat all day, and yesterday, and probably tomorrow.

Great video by Kristoffer Borgli of the Casinokids. Check out more…

For a number of weeks I was wondering what the deal was with the Fool’s Gold storefront in Williamsburg. It seemed to be open, but then the paper went up. I assumed it went out of business…but apparently they were just making all types of epic inside, and officially opened last Friday.

When I was young I spent every Summer in Newport. Now I try and get back up to Newport as much as possible. The Newport Folk Festival was something that was always happening every Summer, but as a young kid I had no interest in folk music. Fast forward a bunch of years and I’ve been quite impressed with the lineups the Newport Folk Festival has put together.I went one year, years ago with my mother. I think the Indigo Girls were the headliner (not a fan), but I remember it was a lot of fun to chill in the sun listening to all sorts of music while drinking Del’s Lemonade (which I’ve always supported becoming Rhode Island’s state drink, to oust Coffee Milk). Huge names such as Johnny Cash, and Bob Dylan have played in front of Fort Adams in Newport, and the talent hasn’t declined at all since, as they had a personal favorite Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros last year which was streamed live by NPR (this year too). This year The Decemberists, Elvis Costello, Tegan & Sara, and my favorite on the ticket, the Freelance Whales will be performing.Like last year I’ve started trying to plan on how I could manage to make it up to Newport at the end of July to finally make it to the festival for the first time in a long time, and hopefully plan to bike home after the shows.I saw on Tumblr last night Tumblr-“famous” That Kind of Woman will be attending.

Beastie Boys are back…and back in a big way, with big names.

This is my dream music video. Vampire Weekend got close with their tennis video, but this video takes the cake with real tennis star appearances of Gael Monfils as well as Novak Djokovic who some how has the power to reverse calls. Well done Martin Solveig and Dragonette.

Today is my birthday. Woohoo! I’m not a big fan of celebrating myself, but I am having a gathering of friends for drinks on Friday, which is the most I’ve done since my sophomore year in collage when I turned twenty-one.

The strangest thing that sticks with me about my birthday is March 9, 1997 when Notorious B.I.G. was killed. Yep this skinny white kid cared more about Biggy being killed then when Princess Diana or Michael Jackson passed. Sorry MJ fans. This same skinny white kid once knew every word of Hypnotize. I forget most of it now, but today listening to artists like Vampire Weekend and Miike Snow, for example, I still have to say Hypnotize is one of my favorite songs of all time. Plus the video is so ridiculously epic (…and so 90s).
